Prof. Dr. Rob Goverde of Delft University of Technology was elected as the new President of the International Association of Railway Operations Research (IAROR) at the IAROR Business Meeting during the 9th International Conference on Railway Operations Modelling and Analysis in Beijing (RailBeijing 2021). He succeeds Prof. Dr. Norio Tomii who stepped down after six years as President. Rob Goverde is Professor of Railway Traffic Management and Operations at Delft University of Technology.

Prof. Dr. Francesco Corman of ETH Zürich was elected as the new Vice President. He succeeds em. Prof. Dr-Ing. Ingo Hansen who has been President from the foundation of the IAROR during 2005-2015 and Vice President from 2015 to 2021. Francesco Corman is Professor of Transport Systems at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich).

On behalf of the Board of the IAROR, the new President Rob Goverde announced the initiation of an Honorary Membership of the IAROR for expectional contributions to the association. Both Ingo Hansen and Norio Tomii were granted an Honorary Membership for their contributions to the IAROR.
